This book explores the phenomenon of absent fatherhood. Many children are raised by single parents, mothers in particular. The pertinent question is: Where are the fathers? They have abandoned their innocent kids. Do they have a conscience? This practice of males ditching their offspring has become normal but unacceptable. Absent fatherhood also has a negative impact on victims: ditched children, that is. It affects their performance at school, leaves them with an identity crisis, knocks their confidence and bruises them emotionally, resulting in depression. That’s how serious this matter is.

However, it is taken lightly by various agencies such as government, business, the church, and individuals. In other words, little is done to fight this phenomenon. Absent fatherhood is killing the nation and damaging our children, the future of South Africa. Meanwhile, the perpetrators are traversing the streets of this country without a care. That means victims are on their own. This book attempts to find out why fathers abandon their children.
